A great collection of *scholarly* *critical* work on the subject

As anybody can tell from looking at the detailed table of contents and introduction, this is not an encyclopedia or an exhaustive survey, much less a picture book for leather fans or a homage to "Nazi aesthetics." It is a scholarly work on a particular genre of film ("Nazisploitation"--it's the title!) of a certain time (roughly 1968-1980) and its broader cultural effects and implications. The volume, which I purchased elsewhere, has insightful and critical articles by up-and-coming younger and eminent senior scholars of German and Austrian film, including the much-awarded scholar, writer, and producer Robert von Dassanowsky. Anybody who reads this book is going to be smarter and better informed for it, but that means reading what's there and not lamenting that you wanted another book but ordered this one instead.

Excellent and THE book on the subject

This is the perfect book for introducing "-xploitation" and German representation to students, critical thinkers, pop culture buffs, film enthusiasts, and everyone else. Please note: brain cells are required for reading. It has been a while since I picked up a relatively academic book (we rarely read non-legal materials as lawyers), so it was really invigorating to get this book.

About the Author
Larry J. Siegel was born in the Bronx in 1947. While living on Jerome Avenue and attending City College of New York (CCNY) in the 1960s, he was swept up in the social and political currents of the time. He became intrigued with the influence contemporary culture had on individual behavior: Did people shape society, or did society shape people? He applied his interest in social forces and human behavior to the study of crime and justice. After graduating from CCNY, he attended the newly opened program in criminal justice at the State University of New York at Albany, earning both his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees there. After completing his graduate work, Dr. Siegel began his teaching career at Northeastern University and has also held teaching positions at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire, and in the School of Criminology and Justice Studies at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell (UML). Now a Professor Emeritus, he continues to teach courses on criminology and criminal justice in UML'S online master's degree program. Dr. Siegel has written extensively in the area of crime and justice, including books on juvenile law, delinquency, criminology, corrections, criminal justice, and criminal procedure. He is a court-certified expert on police conduct and has testified in numerous legal cases.

Brandon C. Welsh is an Associate Professor in the College of Criminal Justice at Northeastern University as well as a Senior Research Fellow at the Netherlands Institute for the Study of Crime and Law Enforcement at Free University in Amsterdam. His research interests focus on the prevention of crime and delinquency and evidence-based crime policy. Dr. Welsh has published extensively in these areas and is an author or editor of seven books. Born in Canada, he received his undergraduate and M.A. degrees at the University of Ottawa and his Ph.D. from Cambridge University in England.

Juvenile Delinquency: The Core

I read this book for a class that I took. It is a very enlightening book to learn about the juvenile delinquency and the system that they are involved in. It provides case studies with each chapter and how they are related to each chapter. If I wasn’t a criminal justice major I would not have read this but I’m glad that I did. I think that people who have kids would find the information in this book to be very helpful. If provides lots of examples and different types of programs that have been used in the United Stated in the Juvenile Justice System. Its clearly is an eye opener for everyone who reads it.

I liked the book for this class because it gave case stories along with teaching the particular subject also websites to view. The important information that is described in the book about the laws were very interesting. The book lets the audience know how there are ways to help the youth and what kinds of problems we are dealing with among the youth. The book gives programs and ideas on how to deter them from trouble or where they could end up.

"Industrial Engineering FE/EIT Exam Prep (FE/EIT Exam Preparation) 3rd edition", has the following characteristics:
-Ch 1-Economy has only 8 pages, just mention some of the areas of Engineering Economy which is the main core of IE.
-The 8th Topic in the NCEES exam specs, "Quality" is not even mentioned in this other book.
The other chapters I didn't reviewed it.

Excellent test preparation book.

It has been my partner on the journey to get the approval on the FE Test, specially in the Industrial section of the test. It is an awesome collection of questions, pretty helpful to study and do a great review for the test. I was expecting for more questions in a thicker book, but this one covers all possible fields.

He moved on to VAX/VMS System Management, Windows Server administration, and Oracle Database Administration. Mark has been an Oracle DBA for 17 years on VMS, Solaris, HP-UX, Windows, and Linux. When Little Bill finds what he believes to be one of the world's largest diamonds, he and his friends immediately start planning all the things he can do with his fortune. He learns, however, with a little help from his father's magnifying glass, that his treasure is actually a glass paperweight "made in Taiwan." In The Worst Day, Little Bill must spend a Saturday all dressed up in a suit and tie while his parents host a party. Many children will relate to the boy's boredom and his attempts to converse with the adult guests. Little Bill patiently endures the party, though, and, in the end, is quietly proud of the fact that he didn't do anything to upset his parents' special day. The stories are sprinkled with references and vocabulary that seem more suited for adults than children. For example, readers may find the mention of tax forms and central heating in The Day I Was Rich a bit confusing. Both books include primitive, striking illustrations that reflect the humor and action of the texts. These titles may be of interest where other books in the series are in demand, but they're not primary choices.

Indeed, his book resembles Seinfeld, with its lightly humorous yet serious renditions of everyday minutiae. Divided into transcripts from some of Greenberg's radio monologues and journal entries about his family life, the book is another entry in the Men Are from Mars... school of sociological observation. Greenberg's viewpoint on the opposite sex essentially involves his subtitle: describing the things he does that make his wife treat him like an idiot. There's plenty of good material in this alone, as well as in some sidesplitting, borscht belt–style material about his gambling-addicted aunt Ada. Unfortunately, the slightly pompous but desperately charming Greenberg also feels the need to fill readers in on such matters as why he doesn't like going to the supermarket and what designer labels he's wearing.

Greenberg is half of the Mike and Mike in the Morning sports-chat radio show on ESPN radio and is also an occasional anchor and reporter on the same network's SportsCenter TV program. On the air, he is funny, literate, and obviously well read far beyond the narrow borders of sports. Here, examining his public life in the context of his roles as father and husband, he exhibits the same sensibilities that make him an engaging on-air presence. He tackles the inherent absurdity of his job--chatting about sports in a complex, ever-more-troubling world--but also about the perks of his quasi fame and the joy he extracts from his work. It's nice to read about a lucky sports guy who knows he is lucky and unabashedly celebrates it. He also takes many of the things he has observed in a life dominated by sports and explains how he is applying them to the raising of his daughter. She visits the baker, the florist, the clothing shop, the antique dealer, and the butcher. Everyone except the butcher gives her something that is neither fluffy/fuzzy nor squishy. The butcher tells her he's busy and frightens her away while waving a bloody knife. When she finally finds a "FLUFFY LITTLE SQUISHY," it looks like a cross between a pink poodle and a rodent. Eddie cuddles it as if it is alive and takes it home to Mom, who wears the best present ever…as a hat? The cartoon illustrations are done in colored pencil with watercolor backgrounds, and the style is reminiscent of Ludwig Bemelmans's art. The colors are muted except for Eddie's bright pink coat and the bright pink creature. VERDICT This French import is an interesting mix of realism and fantasy about one child finding her special talent. Wonderful and Squishy!

What a sweet little story. I love stories when children use their imagination to solve a problem or situation.
When this cute little girl tells us about what her family can do she feels that she can't do anything, but this is about to change. It's mom's birthday and when she over hears her sister talking about , Birthday Fluffy, Squishy, this brave little goes on a hunt to find mom the prefect gift! The illustrations are AMAZING!!!!! I love Beatrice's wonderful illustrations and collage. She is masterful at it. I just had to add it to my already growing collection of her work! Brilliant work indeed. The kids will love it!

about a girl that just wants to get the perfect gift for her mother

A fairly cute little tale, about a girl that just wants to get the perfect gift for her mother. It didn't actually go where I thought, though! As she goes about the city, asking people if they have a Wonderful Fluffy Little Squishy, all the shop owners give her something which seems like the makings of a good gift. But, in the end, it's all used to catch the actual gift.

The girl is a little messy, and so is the artwork, but in a way that feels quite appropriate. I think the artwork will keep a child's attention far more than the story or your actual reading voice!

I'm still not impressed enough to advocate for immediate purchase, however. Give it a try from the library and decide on spending money after. Though if you find it in a used book pile, snatch it up!

A wonderful collage of illustrations filled with patterns and a cute story.

Edith--better known as Eddie--hears her older sister mention their mother's birthday and something about a 'fuzzy, little squishy.' Knowing that her sister was going to give their mom the most amazing present, Eddie rushes into town in search of something wonderful to buy. She asks the baker, the florist, and even the grumpy butcher but after a whole day of searching she hasn't found the perfect thing. Just when she's about to give up, she hears a noise and sees the perfect wonderful little squishy thing.

I absolutely loved the illustrations. While the story is entertaining, I was much more interested in the pictures with the collage of patterns and colors. There's plenty to look at on each page and all the details really drew me in. I especially liked the picture of the whole town with Eddie's pink jacket bobbing through the streets looking in windows and carrying on in her search.
