Morris, author of National Book Award nominee Richard Milhous Nixon: The Rise of an American Politician (LJ 12/89), has written arguably the most damning indictment of the Clintons to date. Excellent books - digs deep on the Clintons. Buy it!

Roger Morris is a very credible author. He and his wife Sally Denton put out fabulous work on every topic they research. And the inside scoop on Bill Clinton is no different.

Roger Morris was one of the first to find out that Bill Clinton had been recruited into the CIA when he was at Oxford - to inform on his anti-war buddies. The CIA is the one who paid for Clinton's trips into Eastern Europe. Cord Meyer of the CIA was the one who recruited Clinton and he reported as much to GOP uber insider Jack Wheeler.

Roger Morris also came across another one of Bill Clinton's vicious sexual assaults. Not the Juanita Broaddrick rape of 1978, but yet another vicious sexual assault in which Clinton - YET AGAIN - bites a woman victim and sexually assaults her. Clinton later appointed this woman's husband to the Arkansas Real Estate Commission - probably to keep them quiet.

"A young woman lawyer in Little Rock claimed that she was accosted by Clinton while he was attorney general and that when she recoiled he forced himself on her, biting and bruising her. Deeply affected by the assault, the woman decided to keep it all quiet for the sake of her own hard-won career and that of her husband. When the husband later saw Clinton at the 1980 Democratic Convention, he delivered a warning. 'If you ever approach her,' he told the governor, 'I'll kill you.' Not even seeing fit to deny the incident, Bill Clinton sheepishly apologized and duly promised never to bother her again." [Partners in Power, page 238]

Roger Morris interviewed the anonymous couple who are socially prominent in Arkansas in late 1993 and again in early 1994.

A juicy, captivating examination of our former leader

"Partners in Power" is an inside look at the lives of our former leader and his wife, President Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton. The book is an intelligent, interesting reading, even shocking and surprising at times. We get the juicy, inside scoop on what went on behind the scenes. Bill's childhood and political career are thoroughly examined here. The author is clearly very educated as his prose is intensely thought-provoking. Opinions are abundant here, and he actually criticizes Clinton from the left. A brief synopsis of modern political history is interwoven in the book. I learned an enormous amount from reading this book, as it is full of interesting information. For example, apparently Clinton had drugs and hookers in the Arkansas Governor's Mansion, with his security helping to keep things secret. It is very funny at times too. This is one of the best political books I have read.

Breaking Barriers

I love this book! This subject/teaching has helped me break through the barrier that I had in my spiritual life. I now feel connected with God and am in communion with him daily. This is the greatest feeling in the world! For anyone who is having difficulty feeling spiritual, give this a read and/or check out his web site. There are many resources on there that will really help you. A fair warning though -- Andrew's not like any other minister. He gives it to you straight up, which is the way I prefer it. He's easy to understand and doesn't beat around the rose bush. May you find the peace that I have.

New Light of Understanding of God's Word

Pastor Wommack has a vast understanding of God's Word and even though I have been involved in the Church for over 20 years, he has shown me new light for MY understanding. Now I manifest the promises of God I could only keep praying for in the past. In Hardness of Heart, Pastor Wommack shows from the Bible how even Jesus Christ's first disciples showed a hardness in heart, simply because they did not believe in Jesus's ability to save them from the storm after they had already seen the miracle of the five loaves and fishes. Pastor Wommack goes on to show more examples, his own examples so that we can relate. He then goes on to show us HOW to get up and out of a hard hearted attitude and mindset, for prosperous results.

Not as useful as the 3d edition

Thmois book is not nearly as useful for new teachers and teacher education courses than is the third edition. There is a great deal of Burke telling the reader about Burke; far too much theory, which teacher education students close to student teaching want in small doses; and too many examples from AP students' work, which new teachers rarely ever see. Many of the good examples of teaching ideas have been removed, and the chart-happy text now has mostly full page, highly detailed charts that are a real turn-off. To cater to the Common Core mania, Burke has caved and plugged in ways to connect to these standards. It's also a shorter book, so you get less for your money.

Too bad. The third edition has been discontinued, so those of us who have used it for some time now have to go elsewhere. Heinemann would be wise to keep the 3d available. I doubt I'm wrong in saying that the new edition will not sell nearly as well.

Not A Steller Revision

I have found every book Burke has written to be well worth a good read. I am, however, sad to say that this new fourth edition does not have the flare, the punch, and the passion of his green-covered third edition. The fourth edition is a nearly complete revision and, in revising, Burke added some useful information and updates tp current practices, but in his extensive revision, he seems to have lost a lot of truly valuable and thought-provoking information and observations especially geared to English / Language Arts teachers in training as well as for first-year teachers. I use The English Teacher's Companion in my Techniques for Teaching English in Middle & Secondary School university course. together with books by Penny Kittle and Tom Romano. I ordered this fourth edition last year, was disappointed, and went back to the third edition for this year's class.
